An online store that takes card payments through your own Yoco account

Short answer: yes, you can sell online with the Yoco account you already use for your card machine. Connect it to a Storeforge shop and your customers pay by card at checkout. The money lands in your Yoco account and pays out to your bank, the same way your in-store sales do.

Storeforge is R299 a month. ForgeLab takes nothing per sale. Yoco charges its usual card fee.

How it works

  1. Start a free 14-day trial and add your products.
  2. Under Payments, paste the secret key from your Yoco account. The shop registers itself with Yoco for your account straight away.
  3. Try the whole checkout in test mode first, then switch the shop to live.
  4. Share your shop link, or point your own domain at it.

When a customer pays, Yoco confirms the payment straight to your shop and the order shows as paid in your dashboard. Until that connection to Yoco is confirmed, the shop only takes test payments, so a half-finished setup can never charge a real customer.

Why your own Yoco account matters

Some shop builders collect the money for you and pay you out later, minus their cut. With Storeforge the payment goes from your customer to your Yoco account. We never hold your money, so there is no waiting on us for a payout and nothing taken per sale.

Common questions

Can I use my existing Yoco account for online payments?

Yes. You connect the Yoco account you already have to your Storeforge shop. Online card payments go into that account and pay out to your bank on Yoco's normal schedule.

Does ForgeLab take a percentage of Yoco payments?

No. Yoco charges its own card fee, as it does on your card machine. ForgeLab charges R299 a month for the shop and nothing per sale.

What if I don't have Yoco?

You can open a Yoco account, or use PayGate or PayPal instead. You can also take EFT, pay on delivery, or sell on account without any card provider.

Is PayFast supported?

Not right now. Yoco, PayGate and PayPal are.
